Growing up in a large family on a
small farm in Michigan, I accepted Christ
at an
early age, yet like many others, I remained in need
of good mentoring. My parents simply lacked good
parenting skills.
After graduating from college
in southern California, I married Ray Meyer and we
have served in the ministry for over 40 years. During this time, we raised our daughter and
son while pastoring in several Midwest locations
(currently with
Living Grace Fellowship in Kansas City,
Missouri).
Unwittingly my marriage and service in
ministry were complicated by past childhood abuse,
which was rather violent. Over the years I continued
to face the dilemma of how to “honor” my parents
whose behavior was not “honorable.”
Following a very
serious illness, the Lord escorted me through the
healing process—including emotional, spiritual and
physical healing. The question of how to honor my
parents (and many other questions) was finally laid
to rest, and a new-found peace entered my life!
Project Renewal
is the result of my personal journey to healing.
In addition to this new-found peace and joy, the
Lord has given me a ministry to “the brokenhearted”—people sincerely trying to live the Christian life,
yet find they are “broken” by abuse.
Like me, most people
live their lives completely oblivious as to how
their childhood may be affecting them as adults. If
this describes your struggle, you can start your
journey to healing today.
I am dedicated to
joining the Lord in the ministry to the
"brokenhearted”—those
held captive by the effects of abuse.
Isaiah 61:1-3 shows us that healing is
available. You can live a victorious life in
Christ—“a tree of righteousness” that brings glory
to God.
